As a Bronte local, we've grown used to good but generally unexciting cafes as our lot. Then along came Bonsai...
To have a restaurant of this quality on our doorstep, we are now truly blessed. I've travelled far and wide to indulge my passion for Japanese food. Now for my complete satisfaction, I need only to stroll down the hill to Bonsai.
Tempura that simply sings, sushi & sashimi as good as I've ever eaten it, and some clearly Japanese twists on more western flavours and ingredients. They might not read as Japanese dishes (I've seen burgers and risotto on the specials), but one taste and it's like I've been transported back to Tokyo or Kobe.
Modern, delectable, interesting food, served in a great location.
